The New Bedford Whaling Museum ignites learning through explorations of art, history, science and culture rooted in the stories of people, the region and an international seaport.
Founded in 1830, the New Bedford Port Society maintains the historic Seamen’s Bethel and Mariner’s Home located on the top of Johnny Cake Hill in the New Bedford Whaling National Historical Park. Serving the maritime community for over 175 years, the Seamens’ Bethel is also the site of dozens of weddings, christenings and memorial services each year.
The Zeiterion is a non-profit performing arts center that entertains, educates, and inspires South Coast Massachusetts with an array of high quality performing artists. It provides engaging learning opportunities that contribute to the cultural, social and economic vitality of our community.
Creative Arts Network Fall River
C.A.N. is a collaboration dedicated to invigorating the Fall River cultural scene and increase public accessibility to art & culture. Doing this effectively, we believe, will create economic opportunity for the local area and promote tourism.

The New Bedford Housing Authority promotes the development and professional management of a variety of affordable housing opportunities, facilities and supportive services to nurture neighborhoods, provide economic development and self‐sufficiency activities for residents while also assuring equal access to safe, quality housing for low and moderate income families throughout the community.
The Women’s Center provides free and confidential 24‐hour easily accessible services to those in need. They provide counseling, education, outreach, and referrals and resources. Their services include: domestic violence, sexual assault, and child trauma programs; legal and medical advocacy; residential services; emergency safe home; community outreach and education. They also serve men and children, and offer Spanish and Portuguese support.
The mission of the Greater New Bedford Career Center system is to provide a continuum of programs and services that help job seekers to obtain and retain employment leading to economic self sufficiency, and to identify and meet current and future labor force needs to help employers compete in the global economy.
